Irish Festival

2010 NTIF
North Texas Irish Festival

The North Texas Irish Festival is held in Fair Park, Dallas, Texas. I took the DART which dropped me off right at the entrance. I attended the event on March 6th. The following is my photo impression.

T'was a beautiful day for a festival!

A Wide Variety of Irish Folk

Food All About

Buxom Serving Wenches Galore

Many A Lass For Kissin'

Ah ... a day to remember.

With music all around.

Irish Wolfhounds - Ever Vigilant

Authentic Apparel

Many Winsome Lasses

Children's Entertainment - A Family Affair

Face Painting

As Night Drew Near

Some could not stand all the excitement

For others the night was still young ...

First a hearty meal

... and then more music

Hailing from Co, Donegal, 25 year old Shauna Mullin is an up and coming singer who has been described as being one of Ireland’s finest exponents of Irish traditional song at present.

In 1999, Shauna won an All-Ireland title in English language song and has since performed extensively on the Irish music circuit. In 2005, she was a finalist in Music Network’s Young Musicwide Award alongside Kieran Munnelly, Sean Óg Graham, Ryan Molloy and Aidan O’Donnell. Over the past few years, she has featured at many major festivals including Celtic Connections (Glasgow), Dranouter festival (Belgium), Labadoux festival (Belgium) and Tonder Festival (Denmark) and in 2007, she performed at the Royal Opera House in London alongside musician and composer Luke Daniels. She has performed with groups and artists such as Téada, Michael Rooney, Na Casaidaigh, Ciaran Coughlan and Steve Cooney

I purchased Munnelly's CD "Tight Squeeze". Shauna and the band were kind enough to sign.

So ... my friends, a few sights and sounds.

I hope to see you there next year!

I will keep a vigil for you

Salute

All my rowdy friends will be there
