China Rose

by Enya
I moved out of a house and into an apartment. I have been used to growing vegetables and flowers for many decades. I found out that when I lived in Southern California it was a lot easier to call myself a gardner. Even though I thought of my thumb as Kelly-Green, I found it a bit tougher in Texas to grow with the flourish I had in the Golden State. I did very well with certain flora for a time. This presentation is the result of an effort after moving to an apartment. You will see the sunny side of my results. Unfortunately, every one of my efforts, either flowers or peppers, were for naught - Every one of them died. I can only assume it was something the groundskeepers sprayed. I moved to a second floor apartment a couple of years later. Things grew quite well. That is covered in another photo presentation. - Look for the Mandalay
Iceburg Rose
The Iceburg Rose was my first attempt at growing something on the balcony. I was really happy with the way it came along. I took many pictures of it and shared it on Facebook. I received many compliments on its beauty. When it died I thought it was something I had done. After a couple of other plantings failed, I decided to give it up for the year. I tried it again the following year with the same results, everything died. I had changed the dirt, thinking I may have contaminated it somehow. I now know that is not the case as many of the plants that flourished later are doing so in that very same soil.
