I have been to towns that salivate when the bikers come to town. You know, the sales folk stare at your wallet instead of looking you in the eye. I never felt that way in Jefferson Texas.

The town was named after Thomas Jefferson. Representing ... this is something the Chamber of Commerce has done well. Clean was my first impression, as I rode into the middle of this community of a little over 2,000. The streets were spotless. The sidewalks well swept.
There are no shortages of places to spend the night. With somewhere in the vicinity of 60 Bed and Breakfast establishments, you will have choices. Some of the premier examples are: Scarlett OHardy's, The Governor's House, Jefferson Hotel and Excelsior House, each with their own distinctive style

This is for the kids, burn victims to be more precise. Children from 4 to 17 attend Camp I'm Still Me at the Scottsville Camp and Conference Center. The camp serves the Louisiana/Texas area. The ability to keep this camp open is due to your contributions to the nonprofit Percy R. Johnson Burn Foundation. They provide modest lodging for the immediate family of the burn victims while their child is being treated.
If y'all are thinking Rally in October then I can't suggest a better place to spend your time and money. You'll have a great time and the kids will benefit.
Well Buckaroos, it is time to get started on my plans for my next adventure. At the moment I'm thinking a ride through Oklahoma, Arkansas and Missouri might be what the doctor ordered. Stay tuned; I'll let you know.
